If you want to customize an electric heater element, you must know these parameters: voltage, power, size, use environment and installation space. Voltage ranks first among several parameters, which shows its importance. The determination of voltage directly affects the service life of electric heating element. Our common voltages are 220V and 380V, so what is the difference between 220V and 380V ?

What is the difference between 220V and 380V electric heater? The 220V and 380V voltages mentioned here refer to the rated voltage , that is, the voltage of the electric heating element. This voltage is not the same as the power supply voltage used.

1.connecting way is different:

If one heater element's voltage is 220V,it just can be connected to 220V,if it is connected to 380V,the power will be bigger and it maybe fused and breakdown. If it should be connected to 380V,the heater elements should have 3 tubular heating rod and use star connection.

If one heater element's voltage is 380V,so it can be connected to 380V and also 220V,but when it is connected to the 220V voltage, the power will be smaller.

2.Resistance is different:

If the voltage is 220V,the resistance value is 220*220/2000 =24.2Ω

If the voltage is 380V,the resistance value is 380*380/2000=72.2Ω

Different resistance value mean different resistance wire diameter and coil no.
