Description

The thermostat is not only a functional component for comfort, but also an important device to ensure user safety. During the heating process of the water heater, if there is no adjustment of the thermostat, the water temperature may be too high, which may cause safety hazards such as scalding. Our thermostat has a variety of protection functions, such as overheating protection and anti-dry burning protection. When the water temperature exceeds the set value, the thermostat will automatically cut off the power supply to prevent the water heater from being damaged or causing danger due to excessive temperature. The anti-dry burning protection function can automatically cut off the power supply in the absence of water to prevent equipment damage and safety accidents caused by dry burning.

For residential water heaters, the most common types of thermostats are the traditional mechanical thermostats.

Mechanical thermostats use a simple dial or slider for temperature adjustment.

In general, there are three main components in an electric water heater. One is the heating element, second is the power switch to avoid overheating problem and the last one is the thermostat.

Mainly,mechanical thermostat is used to adjust the temperature of water for different purposes.
For example, the temperature of water required for doing dishes can differ from the temperature of water required for taking a bath. Other than this,water heater thermostat controls the current flowing from one thermostat to another thermostat or from the thermostat to the heater.

The upper thermostat is the primary one that contains the high limit switch and the lower thermostat is used to detect the change in the temperature of the water.

It's not necessary that both mechanical thermostat  will do the same work, their work can vary according to the water heater unit.

The high limit switch that is located near the upper one is used to protect the water heater from overheating.

It will stop working if the temperature of the water goes above 170 F. You can also reset your settings using this button.

In order to set the temperature of outlet water, you need to set both thermostats on similar temperatures.

Replacing a thermostat for hot water heater is not a difficult task,the immersion heater element works like a kettle ,the heater element temperature rise up and then conduct the heat to the water.

In the working of the heater ,some problem may happen and come from the thermostat.If the water become very hot,we have to replace the rod type thermostat,make sure the power to the immersion heater is turned off and the fuse in the disconnecting switch is disconnected.

Unscrew the top screw of the thermostat cover, and you'll usually see a cable clamp where the main bend is. You usually need to untie this cable clamp before the cover can be lifted clearly.

Fire and electrical shock may result if thermostats are used improperly or are installed by unqualified personnel !! Care should be taken to read and completely understand the Installation and   maintenance manual before installing and wiring the thermostat. Any installation and maintenance performed on the thermostat shall be done by a qualified electrician.
