What determines the thickness of the resistance wire in heating element?

The resistance wire is the core component of the electric heating element. Without the resistance wire, the heating element will lose its heating function. Since the resistance wire is so important, the material and diameter of the resistance wire will affect the service life of the electric heater.

Before customizing an electric heater, what we must know are: shape, tube diameter, size, voltage, power and working environment, etc. Among them, voltage and power are the necessary parameters for determining the wire diameter of the resistance wire.

To get the diameter, it is necessary to first calculate the resistance value based on voltage and work. The resistance value can be obtained by multiplying voltage by voltage and power. At this point, the resistance value of the tube is set.

We all know that there are two types resistance wires. One is the externally wound wire, which means the heating wire is wound around a magnesium rod. Another type is to directly shape it into a spring form and then place it inside the electric heating tube.

However, regardless of the form of the wire, its wire diameter is jointly determined by the resistance value, the pipe diameter and the length (the length of the heating zone).
