There are a lot of friends who are not very familiar with electric heater element have some questions like this? Is the electric heating pipe solid? Why is the surface of the electric heating tube not charged?


The heating element must be solid and filled. As for the  heater element's surface with no charge, pls check the below:


The role of filling material in heater element :

The filling material plays an insulating role between the electric heating wire and the electric heating tube;

The filling material conducts the heat from the electric heating wire to the electric heating tube shell;

The filling material is used to fix the space position of the heating wire.


So the reason why the heater element tube without electric is that the role of the filling material.



So regarding the filling material, what specific requirements do we have?


Adequate insulation performance and electrical strength;

Has good thermal conductivity, that is, a high thermal conductivity coefficient;

The expansion coefficient is similar to that of the heating wire;

It has chemical inertness to electric heating wire material;

High heat resistance;

Can withstand the temperature sudden change characteristics;

Hygroscopicity is small;

With high mechanical properties;

Materials are widely available at low prices.


To meet the requirements of the above nine points is very difficult, because the general good thermal conductivity is also a good conductive body, electrical insulation performance is high, its thermal conductivity is very low. Generally speaking, the filling materials commonly used in the electric heating tube are quartz sand, alumina and magnesium oxide.
