A customer asked me why the oil immersion heater he bought elsewhere always broke down and broke down within a few months after it was installed. Let us analyze the reason for him.
Below is the oil immersion heater as he described.

It can be seen from the figure above that the total power of the oil immersion heater is 50KW and it is composed of 12 U-shaped heating tubes, each of which has a unilateral length of 800mm.
1. We first calculate that the total length of the heating zone of the oil immersion heater element,it is 0.8*12*2=19.2 meters.
2. Then calculate the proportional relationship between the power and the total length ,it is 50/19.2=2.6KW/ m
According to the above calculation, there are two reasons why the oil immersion heater always breaks down.
1.The surface load design is too large, the normal power design can not exceed 1.5KW /Meter, and this power is 2.6KW.
As the fluidity of oil heat conduction is relatively poor, so its power design can not be too large, the higher the power of the tube temperature will be higher, when the heat of the heating element can not be absorbed by the oil in time, it will accumulate on the surface of the tube, until the temperature limit of the heating tube material is reached and burned out, so there are cracks on the surface of the heater element in the customer's picture.
2. According to the figure above, we can see that there is black oil scale on the surface of the oil immersion heater, and there are many impurities on the surface of the tube, which indicates that the heat conducting oil heated is thick and the oil scale forms quickly. The oil scale covers the surface of the heat conducting oil heating tube, so that the heat on the surface of the tube cannot be conducted out.
