Heating film, as common components in smart homes and industrial equipment, if improperly selected, not only affect the usage effect but also may pose safety risks.

1. Ignoring power and scene compatibility
Many people purchase heating films merely based on the price, but fail to consider whether the power is suitable for the usage scenario. For instance, a bathroom heater requires a power of 200W or above, while a laptop cooling pad needs a lower power model. Insufficient power can lead to slow heating, while excessive power may cause circuit overload.
2. Choosing the wrong material type
Common heating film include carbon fiber, graphene, and silicone. Carbon fiber film is resistant to high temperatures but have poor flexibility, making them suitable for industrial pipelines; silicone heating films are soft and flexible, suitable for internal use in household appliances; graphene membranes have fast heat conduction but are costly. Choosing the wrong material type is equivalent to laying down potential safety hazards.
3. Ignore safety certification
Regulated products must have either the 3C certification or the UL certification. These marks can prove that the products have passed safety tests such as high-temperature and fire resistance. Products without these certifications may have the risk of electric leakage, especially when used in humid environments, and special attention should be paid to this.
4. Ignoring size and installation requirements
The size of the heating film must precisely match the space of the equipment. If it is too wide and big, it may cause local overheating; if it is too narrow, the heating area will be insufficient. During installation, a cooling space must be reserved to avoid the film remaining in a sealed environment for a long time. (There was a user who caused the heating film to short-circuit and be damaged due to not leaving a cooling space.)
5. Ignore after-sales guarantee
Choose film heater from famous brands with warranty. Keep the warranty certificate for at least one year. Some manufacturers claim lifetime warranty but have no clear terms. When problems occur, it is difficult to seek redress. It is recommended to prioritize choosing merchants that offer free trials to reduce the cost of trial and error.
