Cartridge heater is tube-shaped heating element widely used in many industries, such as packaging machines, extruders, medical equipment, food processing and other applications. It provides concentrated heat in a limited space, small size but heat up quickly and precisely. A temperature sensor could be built-in to realize real-time temperature feedback and control.

The main function of a cartridge heater is to supply localized heat to assist manufacturing processes. They are designed for optimum performance to supply heat precisely and efficiently.The effectiveness of a cartridge heater depends on its dielectric strength, heat transfer to the sheath, and heat transfer from the sheath to the metal being heated.
The difference between the cartridge heater with metal hose and the common cartridge is that its leads are protected by metal hoses instead of high-temperature sleeves or heat shrink tubes. Metal hoses have the advantages of good flexibility, resistance to lateral pressure, wear resistance, and good elasticity. They can effectively prevent lead breakage or cracking caused by friction and pressure.
They are mainly applied in:open working environments include situations such as personnel movement, object handling, mold manufacturing, chemical processing, mechanical equipment, and the automotive industry.
Types of the sheaths can be metal hose sheath, metal woven mesh sheath.
The cartridge heater has the following features:
1.According to the appearance,it is obvious in small size,but small size never affected the reduction of its own power, but the surface load is high.

There are many lead options available online which include glass fibre leads, silicon rubber leads, PTFE leads, ceramic beaded leads and more. Please advise us of the type of leads you prefer and if you would like some assistance or advice on the correct lead to use, do not hesitate to ask.
BUILT-IN THERMOCOUPLES
One option of cartridge heater is built-in thermocouples. These thermocouples could be attached at the end or middle of the cartridge heater, grounded or ungrounded. Thermocouples could be type "J" or "K".
WELL SEALED AND MOISTURE PROOFING
In order to strengthen the product's sealing and prevent from moisture, Teflon lead wires could be used. Lead end is sealed with Epoxy, silicone or Teflon. Maximum temperature could reach 245 ℃ .
MATERIALS FOR HIGH TEMPERATURE
If heaters are operating under extreme high temperature, Reheatek cartridges could be sealed by ceramic end cap with high temperature ceramic glue. Maximum temperature could reach 800℃ .
CUSTOM DISTRIBUTED WATTAGE
In some applications such as sealing or rubber molds, the two ends of a cartridge heater are usually colder than the middle. To solve this inconsistency and have a uniformly distributed heat source, cartridge heaters could be made to have higher wattages at the ends. 35/30/35 is a common wattage distribution.
