Band Heater Element For Extruder Machine is an important component of the extruder. Its function is to provide heat energy to heat the plastic raw materials to a molten state during the extrusion process, so as to facilitate the smooth extrusion molding.
The advantages of mica band heater is that it has simple structure, easy replacement and fast heating speed. The drawback is that its lifespan is relatively short. This type was widely adopted on early extruders.
Band heater for extruder is usually composed of a heating screw, electric heating tubes, a temperature controller and an outer protective cover, etc. When in operation, the heating tube generates heat and transfers it to the heating screw through conduction and radiation. The heating screw, as one of the core components of the extruder, is responsible for transporting plastic raw materials from the feed port to the extruder barrel and heating them during the transportation process.
Under normal circumstances, the extrusion process needs to maintain a certain temperature range to ensure that the plastic raw materials can be fully melted and have good fluidity.
Extruder band heater mainly lies in controlling the temperature of the heating screw to ensure that the plastic raw materials can melt at an appropriate temperature and maintain a certain degree of stability. The temperature controller can monitor the temperature of the heating screw in real time and control the temperature by adjusting the heating power of the heating tube. This precise temperature control can ensure the stability of the extrusion process and the quality of the product.
Band heater element for extruder machine is capable of being used to heat all cylindrical forms and very extensively used in the plastics industry as the heat source for moulding and extrusion machinery. Other applications include drum heating, film processing tanks and hot melt adhesive containers. In addition, band heater may be used to heat internal diameters when it is desired to conduct dry heat from the inside, e.g. for the internal heating of rollers.

The user should provide the drawing or sample of the mica heater . If no drawing or sample is available, the specification, model, voltage, power and specific approximate size of the product must be provided.
To avoid overheating, it is necessary to ensure uniform heat dissipation of the entire working surface of the heater. The high-temperature mounting paste can be beneficial here. During installation, tighten the heater on the cylinder's surface, apply power to it, and allow it to reach half of operating temperature (around 175 °C), then cut the power and tighten it a bit more to level out the thermal expansion. Normally, extruder heater bands cannot function in humid environments. However, a small amount of water does not harm the heater's operation thanks to the metal housing.
Extruder machine and injection molding machine have difference in production process and temperature control.
So the band heater element for extruder machine require more accurate temperature control, cooling.
Most of the energy-saving band heater can not provide energy-saving transformation schemes for extruders because of insufficient research and development capacity and insufficient production process.
