The quality of stainless steel heater element mainly depends on the difference in nickel content. Nickel is an excellent corrosion-resistant element. In stainless steel, its combination with chromium strengthens the corrosion resistance and acid and alkali resistance. However, for low-carbon nickel steel to obtain a pure austenitic structure, the nickel content must reach 24%, and only when the nickel content is 27% can the corrosion resistance of the steel in certain media be significantly changed. Therefore, for heating element, for better corrosion resistance and high-temperature resistance, materials such as 800, 840, and 316L can be chosen. The nickel content of 800 stainless steel tubes reaches 30%, that of 840 tubes reaches 20%, and that of 316L stainless steel tubes is 10%. 304 stainless steel is only 8%.

What should we pay attention to when installing the immersion heater element?

The common installing way is horizontal and vertical:

Horizontal installation means that the heating element is installed in the side of the water tank.

If the immersion heater element is flange type, it is necessary to weld an external nozzle on the tank to weld the mother flange, and then the flanged immersion heater element is inserted into the hollow external nozzle, finally the mother flange and the flange above the heater element are fixed with screws.

Then the amount of liquid in the hollow external nozzle part is very small.We should reserve the same length of the cold area of the outer tube, so that it will not burned out , which is a problem that many people will not pay attention to.

2.When it is installed from the side, it must be installed below the lowest liquid level height, so that the heating element is always immersed in the liquid, so that there is no risk of dry burning.

This install way may leak because of the pressure of the liquid and the welding point, the gap between the box and the external nozzle and the gap between the external nozzle and the mother flange must be welded tightly. Or it can be welded and then sealed with sealant.
