Tank immersion heaters are used to heat resins and oils, helping them retain their viscosity and prevent crystalline precipitation, such as sodium hydroxide. These heaters are capable of producing temperatures up to 1000°F.
SS304 oil tank heating element is mainly made of metal tubular electric heating element. The outer tube of the liquid heating tube is made of nickel ferrochrome material, which has the advantages of high mechanical strength, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, and difficulty in scaling. It can utilize the expansion coefficient of the outer tube. Different and working micro-seismic descaling characteristics solve the fatal flaws of stainless steel and copper electric heating elements that are prone to scaling.

The surface load of the oil tank heating element is limited by the heated medium. That is, the prerequisite for it should be to ensure that the oil on the surface of the heating tube does not get damaged. Since the convective heat transfer of the oil is closely related to its viscosity, and viscosity is determined by the temperature of the oil.
For instance, when the oil temperature of a diesel engine is between 5 and 8 degrees Celsius, its convective ability is extremely poor. And when it reaches 180 degrees Celsius, its convective ability is even worse than that of water. Therefore, the conditions for heat transfer from the surface of the heating tube to the heated oil are much worse than in water.
This is why when using heater element to heat water, we can design the surface load much higher than oil.
When designing the heating tubes for oil, we not only considered the design of the surface load, but also took into account the situation of oil carbonization.
Stainless steel heater element is commonly used for water and food heating application.It is safe and fast heating.
Is there any heater element which can both heat oil and water?
People who know heating element that the factor determine oil heating or water heating is the surface load:
In normal situation,water heater element design is 1-3kw/meter,when there is more water scale,the surface load design should be 1-2kw.
Oil heater element should be designed 1-2kw,when the oil is very stick,the power per meter should be 1kw.
If put the water heater element in the oil,the surface temperature can not be absorbed quickly as in water,so the surface temperature of the water heater element will be too high and if more higer it will influence the heating resistance wire and finally cause the broken.
So we can see above that when the surface load of the sus304 oil tank heating element and water heater element is equal or close,they can be both used.
