Flanged immersion heater is efficient and cost-effective way of heating up various liquid solutions in processing equipment, as well as in large tanks or vessels.

The product is used to heat a variety of flowing or stationary liquids and gases by forced convection or natural convection.

It has the advantages of small size, large power, 2-4 times the surface load of the air heater element, high temperature, simple installation, easy to replace and long service life.

 

The design of flanged immersion heater for water tank is based on customer process conditions: fluid to heat (type and properties), in/out temperature, pressure, heat exchange conditions (stagnant or flowing), and environment conditions (ATEX or not, onshore or offshore, etc.).

Flanged immersion heater is one of the commonly used devices in industrial production.

 

The entire heating part of the immersion heater  is immersed in water.The working environment is liquid, not air, nor the mold.
The following issues must be considered: scale buildup, corrosion, electric leakage, dry burn.

 

 

Flange type:
Threaded Flange: Low-power, DN40 and below, 1.5 inch/2 inch threaded screw threads
Welded Flange: Main type for medium and large-sized water tanks. First, weld the flange onto the tank wall, and then press the heating element with the flange bolts
Loose Coupling Flange: Convenient for disassembly and assembly. Commonly used in scenarios where frequent cleaning is required.

The heating tube material should be the same or higher grade than the water tank. For example,  304 stainless steel water tank should be paired with a 304 flange, while a 316L water tank cannot be paired with a 304 flange (as it would cause electrochemical corrosion).

 

 

Flanged immersion heater for industrial water tank is most prone to "dry burning" - when the water level drops below the heating section, the heating element will directly get dry and burn through in just a few minutes.

For industrial water tanks, the choice is based on the heating element. There is no such answer as "which brand is the best". Instead, it depends on "which one best suits your working conditions".
Heating tap water, below 80℃, 3-30 kW -- sus304 flange + conventional design, most manufacturers can do it
Heating chlorinated water, seawater, chemical liquids -- must be stainless steel 316L or titanium tubes. At this time, choose the manufacturer with genuine materials.
Thermal oil furnace, hydraulic oil, high-viscosity oil -- focus on the control ability of "surface load", don't just look at the price.
Food, medicine, electronics industry -- check "material certification" and "industry certification".

 

 

 

1.The heating element is not working properly
If the immersion heater in the industrial water tank fails to work properly, the first step is to check whether the equipment is powered on and whether the connection is correct. If it still fails to work properly, the following points can be carried out:

Check if it is burned out. If so, it needs to be replaced.Check if the controller is faulty. If so, the controller needs to be replaced.
Check if the temperature sensor is faulty. If so, the temperature sensor needs to be replaced.


2.If the immersion heater in the industrial water tank overheats, it might be due to damage to the internal structure of the heating tube. At this point, the equipment should be immediately stopped from use and professional maintenance personnel should be sought for inspection and replacement.

3.The water temperature fails to meet the requirement ,the following checks can be carried out:

Check if the power  is sufficient. If not, the heating tube needs to be replaced.

Check whether the temperature control device is working properly. If it fails, the temperature control device needs to be replaced.

 

4.The noise of the equipment is too loud.
If the heater element in the industrial water tank makes excessive noise during operation, it may be caused by the wear of the internal parts of the equipment. At this point, it is necessary to find professional maintenance personnel to carry out inspection and repair and replace parts.
