High temperature ceramic band heater is made of mica/ceramic insulation, nickel chrome heating wire and stainless steel sheath.Ceramic band heater is the ideal solution for high watt densities and high operating temperature applications, especially for the plastics industry. Various shapes are available to accomodate different applications and industries.
Configuration choices allow selection of one or two piece heaters, type of closure, and type of leads/post terminals.Options include terminal boxes, holes, Heat Saver (extra) insulation (see details below), 3-phase power, dual voltages, partial coverages, European connectors, perforated sheaths without insulation for air cooled applications, and others (see list below).
High temperature ceramic band heater is designed to wrap around the object that needs heating, forming a tight fit. This direct contact ensures efficient heat transfer and minimizes heat loss to the surrounding environment.
When the heater is powered on, the resistance wire inside the ceramic insulator heats up due to its inherent resistance to current. This resistance causes the wire to generate additional heat as a by-product.The heat generated by the resistance wire is transferred to the ceramic insulator, and then conducted to the metal sheath. The metal sheath comes into direct contact with the heated object, thereby transferring the heat to the object itself.
Ceramic band heaters typically have temperature control mechanisms, such as thermostats or thermocouples, to regulate the heat output. This ensures that the temperature remains within a safe and desired range.
Ceramic band heater will be customized to suit your machine and process. The band heater provides often with built in sensor and holes for measuring points directly on the heated object.Ceramic band heater will be delivered with built in thermic insulation. They have low heat losses and a steady heated surface.
Attentions:
1. High temperature ceramic band heater is not waterproof structure, so do not contact with oil, water and plastic particles during storage and installation to prevent leakage.
2.When installing, the ceramic band heater must be closely fitted with the heated body, and the surface of the heated body should be flat and complete, without uneven phenomenon.
3.If the surface is found to produce a scorched black color after use, it indicates that the heat and heat dissipation of the heated body are unbalanced, and should be adjusted in time to prevent burning through.
4.When using high temperature ceramic band heater, should avoid hard knocking or collision with hard objects caused by ceramic tile breakage, alloy resistance wire exposed affect the operation life.
5. Before installation, check whether the installation position is consistent with the specifications of the ceramic electric heater and whether the use voltage is consistent.
