Small volume and large power ,cartridge heater is especially suitable for the heating of metal molds. It is usually used with thermocouple to achieve good heating and temperature control effect.
For example
In the traditional plastic mold or rubber mold, the cartridge heater is placed inside the metal mold plate to ensure that the plastic and rubber materials in the mold flow channel are always in a molten state, and always maintain a relatively uniform temperature.
In the stamping die, the cartridge heating element is arranged according to the shape of the die to make the stamping surface reach high temperature, especially for the plate or thick plate with high stamping strength, and increase the efficiency of stamping process.
Cartridge heaters can operate at low, medium, and high watt densities. They are designed to withstand a working temperature of up to 1400°F. However, the optimal operating temperature will depend on the application for which you are using the cartridge heater.
24V DC cartridge heater is mainly used for efficiently heating tools and workpieces. To this effect, the dc cartridge heater is pushed into a hole in the tool and fixed there. Different diameters and designs make sure that the temperature distribution matches the specifications as well as possible.
It is also important to consider the electrical termination of a cartridge in regard to the operating temperature. When cartridge heaters are used at relatively high temperatures, the electric terminals should either be different than the common high temperature lead wires.
