Tubular finned heater is usually used in forced circulation heating of low temperature air. It is suitable for use in a wide variety of forced air heating applications, industrial ovens and food service applications.
Some applications require stainless steel materials for corrosion resistance. The most efficient finned heaters are made with steel sheath and steel fins. Steel is normally used for air heating, stainless steel for atmospheres which are humid or corrosive and monel for salt-laden humid atmospheres. Keep remember that stainless heaters with stainless fins are very inefficient since the heat transfer rate of stainless is less than one quarter that for steel.
The heater element for printing oven is a very important component in the printing press, and its role is to dry and cure the ink on the print . We usually use the U shape finned heater, let's take a closer look at its working principle and design.
First, the working principle
U-shape finned heater element is composed of heating wire, insulation material, shell and fin. When an electric current passes through the heating wire, the electrical energy is converted into heat energy, heating the fin and conducting heat. By exchanging with hot air, heat is transferred to the ink on the print, which dries and cures it.
Second,design features
The U-shape design can promise more stable and safe when working. As the U-shape structure can effectively prevent the heating wire from burning out the insulation material, it ensures the service life of the finned air heater.The fin design can increase the surface area of the heating element and improve the thermal efficiency. At the same time, the fins can also increase the contact area between the heating tube and the hot air, so that the heat is more evenly transferred to the print.
The shell material o is made of stainless steel or copper, which has good thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance. The heating wire is selected nickel chromium alloy or iron chromium aluminum alloy and other superalloy materials, these materials have good high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance.
The control system of the finned heater for printing is usually controlled by PID controller, which can achieve accurate temperature control.By controlling the heating power and heating time , the drying and curing of printed matter can be precisely controlled.
When application ,below points need to be pay attentions:
1. Heat preservation: finned heater is often used in hot air circulation and heat preservation system. There should be heat preservation and insulation layer around to reduce heat loss.
2 wind speed: wind speed in 8-12 m/s is more appropriate, too high wind speed will increase the pressure head loss, too low will reduce the heat dissipation efficiency.
3. Installation: staggered installation is generally adopted to make the air contact surface of the flow larger, fully heated, and take away the heat.
