A thick film refers to a film layer with a thickness ranging from several micrometers to several tens of micrometers formed on a substrate through printing and sintering technology. The material used to manufacture this film layer is called thick film material. Thick film heating elements have numerous advantages such as high power density, fast heating speed, high working temperature, fast temperature rise rate, high mechanical strength, small volume, easy installation, uniform heating temperature field, long service life, energy conservation and environmental protection, and safety.

Due to the large working current of the thick-film heating element, the electrical contact points are also a weak component of the heating element. Under the influence of factors such as alternating temperature and humidity in the working environment , it is prone to cause oxidation, heating and burnout of the contact points. Usually, in the design, the thickness and area of the thick-film conductor material should leave some margin. The thickness of the contact point and the silver content need to meet the actual usage requirements. Moreover, the elastic connection between the contact point and the thick-film conductor is generally combined with spring material, and beryllium bronze is usually selected as the best option because it has good elasticity and electrical properties.
