Threaded cartridge heater  has high power, high thermal efficiency, fast heat dissipation, etc., and can be used for plastic packaging, small mold heating, analytical instruments, and cooling effect when various gases expand.

For low-temperature pipes, BUNDY, aluminum pipes and copper pipes are generally used, for high-temperature pipes , stainless steel ,incoloy material can be choosed.

If the water quality is serious,teflon heat pipes and stainless steel coated heat pipes can be used.

 

Make sure that the heater will always be surrounded by the liquid you are heating. The liquid acts as the heat sink and it is required to keep the heater at a safe operating temperature.Be sure to consider a worst-case scenario where the liquid could drop as low as it can go, even in the case of a leak inyour tank. Without the liquid around your heater to help pull the heat away, the heater will be exposed to air and run hotter.That excess temperature may decrease the life of your heater depending on the operation temperature.

 

Threaded cartridge heater for compressors are used where oil must be pre-heated whencompressors are turned on in air conditioning equipment, heatpumps and special refrigeration equipment.The elements can operate directly immersed in the oil or in areas inindirect contact with the fluid.

The elements are designed for high or low power density to customers' specifications or according to the actual conditions of use andare produced to European EN 60335 – 1 (CE) standards.The sheath material is stainless steel (AISI 321 or 304) and the elements can be completed with connections and connectors withIP67 protection rating.

When designing the threaded cartridge heater, it is necessary to comply with the corresponding design specifications to ensure its safety, reliability and high efficiency.Concerning the material,we must use acid and alkali resistant, high temperature resistant materials, such as stainless steel, titanium alloy, etc. At the same time, it is necessary to consider its thermal conductivity and select materials with better thermal conductivity to improve heating efficiency.

The length should be set reasonably according to the required heating temperature and the volume of the heater. Too long length will cause energy waste, but also increase the size and weight of the threaded cartridge heater, reducing the overall performance of the heater.

The diameter shall be determined according to the required power. The larger the diameter, the higher the power can be carried by the cartridge heater, but it will also cause energy waste and increase the volume of the heater. Therefore, there needs to be a balance between power and size.

 

 

What is the relationship between the voltage, resistance and power? 

 The formula for voltage (E), resistance (R), power (W), and current (I) is: 

 W = E²/R = I²*R = E*I 

 After the product is processed, its resistance value is fixed, so if the input voltage of the product is increased, the power will also increase substantially, and the current will change accordingly. This is the reason why the voltage cannot be increased when operating, it is easy to cause the surface load of the cartridge heater to be too high or the current being too large, which will damage the heater.

Threaded immersion cartridge heater element is generally used for heating liquid, and the material selection principle is recommended as follows:

 

★ Conventional heating water, stainless steel 304, stainless steel 321 recommended

★ Regular drinking water, stainless steel 316L recommended

★ With poor water quality, high density cartridge heater is recommended to use stainless steel 316L, stainless steel 310S, Incoloy 840/800 or stainless steel surface for anti-scale coating (liquid coating/electrostatic powder coating).
